Just when Indians on Twitter are playing with the slogans ‘Chowkidar’ and ‘Chowkidar Chor Hai’, former Gujarat Chief Minister Shankersinh Vaghela filed a burglary complaint against his security guard (chowkidar), accusing him of stealing 3 lakh cash and 120 gm gold (worth Rs. 2 lakh) from his home.  Nepali couple was employed by the Vaghela household four years ago. He lived at former CM house along with a wife and their two children.

In October last year, Nepali couple informed his boss that they wanted to return to Nepal to admit his children in school, since then they never returned to Vaghela house. On 7 February, the Vaghelas were preparing for a wedding in the family when the burglary came to light.

When the burglary came to light Vaghela family questioned their domestic staff about their missing cash and jewellery. Since they realised that Nepali was responsible for the security of the room from where valuables were looted. Only he and his wife had access to the room.

Vaghela immediately contacts Nepali and asked him to return work, but he didn’t. As the days passed, EX CM realised that the security guard was not going to come and so he filed a complaint against him at Pethapur Police Station.
