A heavily modified Ford GT sports car on Monday became the world's fastest car by hitting a top speed of 472.5 kmph in just one mile. The previous world record was of 455.7 kmph, set back in 2012 by a 1,700 horsepower Ford GT. The new record also beats ₹17 crore Bugatti Chiron supercar's record of 420 kmph top speed.
