A public interest litigation (PIL) has been filed in the Gujarat high court against parking charges being levied by malls, multiplexes and commercial complexes. A bench of Chief Justice R Subhash Reddy and Justice VM Pancholi has issued a notice to the Surat municipal corporation after hearing the PIL. The next hearing would be held in the month of July. Surat resident Sanjeev Izava who filed the PIL argued that many commercial buildings have been constructed in the city without any parking facility.
