The city police on Friday detained the physical education teacher of a prominent school here, who was accused of sexually abusing a 4-year-old girl. On Thursday, the kindergarten student was allegedly molested inside the toilet during the school hours. Meanwhile, the principal of the school said that the school administration has initiated an internal probe.
"We are doing an internal investigation as well. We can give assurance to all parents that security and safety will be given top priority," said Principal Sharmila Nath.  
The girl reportedly returned home with blood stains on her uniform and was crying inconsolably. Her mother noticed bleeding from her genital area. The child was then rushed to the hospital, where doctors informed the parents about the sexual assault.
