The Uttarakhand BJP government has clamped restrictions on media of the state so that administration level news may not get leaked. The state Chief Secretary had on December 27 issued an order to bar the media in the government offices. But the order has not gone well with the state media and the journalists as well as editors of Uttarakhand have decided to take the issue to CM Trivendra Rawat. The opposition Congress is also criticizing the decision and called it restrictions on freedom of press.
