After years of testing, WhatsApp has finally rolled out its standalone business app that aims to help small businesses connect easily with people. The app, called WhatsApp Business, has started rolling out and is available to download for free via the Google Play Store in select countries. The app is currently available for Android users only, but you can expect it to reach iOS users sometime in the near future. WhatsApp says the app will provide a convenient way for its 1.3 billion users to chat with businesses they prefer.
The WhatsApp Business app will allow companies to create their own profile with information like a description about the business, email or store address and website, among other things, similar to creating a page on Facebook. The app also provides smart messaging tools like quick replies for fast answers to FAQs, greeting messages to introduce your business to customers and messages to let them know you’re busy. The app also provides analytics to help you understand which messages are working. Additionally, users will know they’re talking to a business as the company’s profile will be listed as a Business Account. WhatsApp will also verify some of these accounts over time.
