In Gujarat 15 National Highway Projects costing Rs 3,193.53 crore are approved/sanctioned/under sanction during 2022-23 as per the Ministry of Road Transport & Highways, Government of India. During the last three years, 84 National Highway Projects costing a total of Rs 50,013 crore and covering a total length of 2077.46 kms along with building 15 projects such as river bridges, minor and major bridges and black spot ratification projects have been completed/under construction/awarded.
 
This information was provided by the Minister of Road Transport & Highways, Shri Nitin J. Gadkari, in Rajya Sabha on March 15, 2023 while replying to a question raised by member of parliament Shri Parimal Nathwani. Shri Nathwani wanted details about the national highway projects completed/under construction in the state of Andhra Pradesh over the last three years, including total length and costing for each such project. He also asked for details about the new national highway projects (including investments planned) approved/sanction for the state of Gujarat for the next 3 to 5 years.
 
In the reply, with regard to the question on projects proposed for next 3 to 5 years, the Minister replied that development and maintenance of National Highways is a continuous process. Projects to be taken up in successive years are finalised based on the outcome of DPR, traffic volume, inter-se-priority and availability of resources. Minister concluded by stating that no projects are approved/sanctioned for the next 3 to 5 years.
 
Major Future Projects:
 
* Elevated corridor including 4 lane Shastri bridge on the Sabarmati River at cost of Rs 820 crore
* Additional 4 lane Bridge at the Sabarmati River and its approaches at cost of Rs 68.42 crore
* Up-gradation of Patan-Gozariya Section of NH-68 with total length of 76.94 km at cost of Rs 1181.34 crore
* Widening and Strengthening of Dhoraji-Jamkandorna-Kalavad Section of NH-927D with total length of 58.115 km at cost of Rs. 246.6 crore
