The Indian contingent in Tokyo won two more medals on Friday, with shooter Avani Lekhara becoming the first Indian woman to win two Paralympic medals by claiming the 50m Rifle 3 Position SH1 bronze. Another debutante, Praveen Kumar, clinched the silver medal in the men’s high jump T64 event of the Paralympics. With these two medals, the country’s haul stands at 12 in the ongoing Games. This is India’s best ever tally, with athletes so far claiming two gold, six silver and four bronze medals.
