Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has said the inflation cannot be handled only by the Centre and states, too, must play their part. RBI forms a critical part of inflation management, but fiscal policy has to work together with monetary policy in handling the inflationary surge, she said. Inflation is higher in states that haven't reduced fuel prices, she added.
