A tragic boiler explosion at a Vedanta Limited power plant in Sakti district of Chhattisgarh has claimed at least 14 lives and left around 20 workers injured, several of them critically.
President Droupadi Murmu expressed deep sorrow over the loss of lives, offering condolences and prayers for the bereaved families. PM Modi also conveyed his grief and announced ex-gratia compensation from the Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund, with Rs 2 lakh for the families of the deceased and Rs 50,000 for the injured.
