The Congress was on Friday served a notice of over Rs 1,800 crore by the Income Tax Department, hours after the Delhi High Court rejected the party's pleas against tax reassessment proceedings.
The notice was served for the assessment years 2017-18 and 2020-21, and included penalty and interest
As the Congress confirmed receiving the tax notice of Rs 1,823.08 crore, it also accused the BJP of indulging in "tax terrorism" to financially cripple the opposition party ahead of the Lok Sabha polls
