Congress leader and South Mumbai candidate Million Deora has been found guilty for violating the Model Code of Conduct (MCC). The assistant returning officer has been asked to take suitable action against the Congress leader. Milind Deora, during his speech on April 2, had said that his fight is not with the Bharatiya Janata Party but with the Shiv Sena. He had also said that the people should teach a lesson to Shiv Sena for insulting Jain sentiments.

He said, "Shiv Sena has been against minorities. A few years ago, the party insulted Jains by cooking meet outside a Jain temple during Paryushana festival. Remember you have to teach them a lesson through your votes."
