TRAI on Wednesday capped the amount that consumers have to pay monthly for all free-to-air channels combined at ₹160. It also increased the number of free-to-air standard definition channels to be provided at ₹130 to 200 from the current 100. Further, only those priced at ₹12 or less will be permitted to be part of bouquets offered by broadcasters.
