The Indian auto market is rapidly changing and now cars are getting increasing modern and well-equipped. Unlike before, today if you are out to buy a new car and are on a budget, it doesn't mean that you'll have to make compromises in terms of styling, features, or safety. Even manufacturers have started to understand what today's customers want and today most of the cars out in the market come with a value-for-money quotient.

Here is the list of cars between 2 lakh to 5 lakh in India:               

Bajaj Qute (RE60):

Bajaj has now launched the Qute in Maharashtra, after launching it in Kerala, Gujarat, Odisha, Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan. The quadricycle is priced at Rs 2.48 lakh for the petrol variant (personal) and Rs 2.78 lakh for the CNG variant (commercial). Powering the Qute is a 216.6cc, four-stroke, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that makes 13.1PS of power and 18.9Nm of torque. The CNG variant, on the other hand, produces 11PS of power and 16.1Nm of torque. The engine comes mated to a 5-speed manual transmission. Bajaj claims a fuel efficiency of 35 kmpl for the petrol variant and 43km/kg for the CNG variant. Aimed at the three-wheeler market in India, the Qute is better than its conventional counterpart in every aspect.

Datson Redi-Go:

The Datsun redi-GO is priced from Rs 2.67 lakh to Rs 4.29 lakh. It is available in five variants: D, A, T, T(O) and S. Datsun also offers the redi-GO Limited Edition, which is priced from Rs 3.58 lakh to Rs 3.85 lakh. The Datsun redi-GO offers a detailed driver display, which showcases instantaneous and average fuel efficiency, trip distance and distance-to-empty as well. It packs a Bluetooth-enabled audio system that offers hands-free calling and music streaming, central locking, manual AC, LED daytime running lights and more. For safety, it gets only ABS with EBD as standard since the driver airbag is limited to the top-spec S variant only. The Datsun redi-GO is offered with two petrol engines: a 0.8-litre unit good for 54PS/72Nm and a 1.0-litre unit with a max output of 68PS/91Nm. Both engines are available with a 5-speed manual transmission, while the 1.0-litre engine can be had with a 5-speed AMT as well. The Datsun redi-GO returns a claimed mileage of 22.7kmpl and 22.5kmpl for the 0.8-litre and 1.0-litre engines, respectively.

Renault Kwid:

Renault KWID price starts at Rs.2.79 lakh (Ex-Showroom, Delhi) and the top end variant Renault KWID Climber 1.0 AMT is priced at Rs. 4.73 lakh. Renault Kwid is available in 8 petrol variants and claiming the mileage of 25.17 kmpl. In technical specification, Renault Kwid Stanadard (Base Petrol) is powered by 800 cc engine delivering 53.3 PS power and 72 Nm torque. Dimensionally, Kwid stacks under 3.6 metre of length and features 300-liter of boot space. It also comes with 6 manual and 2 automatic transmission variants at a starting price of Rs. 2.67 lakh and Rs. 4.35 lakh respectively.

Maruti Alto 800:

The Alto 800 priced between Rs. 2.94 lakh to Rs. 3.72 lakh. It now packs in features like a touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto along with auto AC and LED headlamps. It also offers dual front airbags along with ABS as standard and still puts its faith in the 1.2-litre petrol and the 1.3-litre DDiS diesel engine. Both engines are available with manual and AMT gearboxes. The Alto comes with driver airbag as standard. A front passenger airbag is offered as an option on the Std and LXi variants, while it is standard on the top-spec VXi. Further safety updates include ABS with EBD, rear parking sensors, a speed alert system as well as a front occupant seatbelt reminder. The 2019 Alto also features a new Bluetooth enabled audio system with a mobile dock on the top-spec VXi variant.

Tata Tiago:

Tata Tiago price starts at Rs.4.33 lakh. The Tiago comes with three engine options: a 1.05-litre three-cylinder turbo-diesel engine, a 1.2-litre three-cylinder petrol engine and the JTP-exclusive 1.2-litre, 3-cylinder turbo-petrol engine. All the engines are paired with 5-speed manual transmission, the non-JTP petrol is also available with a 5-speed AMT. While Tata has not revealed the mileage figures of the JTP, the claimed mileage of the others are as follows: Tiago petrol MT: 23.84kmpl Tiago petrol AMT: 23.84kmpl Tiago diesel MT: 27.28kmpl.

Maruti Suzuki Swift:

The Swift has priced between Rs 4.99-Rs 8.85 lakh. It is now packs in features like a touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto along with auto AC and LED headlamps. It also offers dual front airbags along with ABS as standard and still puts its faith in the 1.2-litre petrol and the 1.3-litre DDiS diesel engine. Both engines are available with manual and AMT gearboxes.
