The former prime minister and veteran Congress leader Manmohan Singh on Tuesday filed nomination papers for a Rajya Sabha seat in Rajasthan.

The seat got vacant after BJP MP Madan Lal Saini's demise in June. Singh, whose tenure in the Upper House of Rajya Sabha ended on June 14 this year, was a member of the Upper House of Parliament from Assam for almost three decades.
