A Delhi court admonished and fined a man who ignored police instructions and continued with the fireworks on Diwali night last year. The Supreme Court in its order had mentioned that bursting of firecrackers is allowed between8 PM to 10 PM on Diwali.

 According to a report, the convict was identified as Mayank Singh who was released on a bail of Rs 15,000 after due admonition. On November 7, 2018, the policemen were patrolling Delhi neighbourhood when they saw Singh bursting crackers after 10 PM he was warned about the SC's rules. After a warning, when the police returned to the same place, Singh was still bursting crackers after which he was arrested by the cops. However, later a case was registered against him under Section 188 (Disobedience to order duly promulgated by public servant) of the Indian Penal Code.
