After almost 48 hours, speculations of Congress MLA Alpesh Thakor joining the Bhartiya Janata Party have come to end. Addressing the media at his Ranip office, Alpesh said, "Since the last few days reports of issues between me and the Congress leaders have surfaced in the media. I don't deny that news. But, now all the issues have been solved. I will stay with Congress and work for my community people."

For the betterment of my community, will stay with Congress because "I had thought of becoming a minister. But when I asked people of my community, they told me to stay with the Congress. Earlier, during 2017 Gujarat assembly elections my community had asked me to join Congress. So, I will do what my people ask me to do. I will work for community betterment. I don't want power but I want respect for the people of my community and for myself. The Congress has agreed to give respect to my community," said Alpesh Thakor.
