H.K. Dua, former editor of three leading national dailies and Rajya Sabha MP, passed away on Wednesday after a brief period of illness. He was 88. The veteran journalist breathed his last at a private hospital where he had been undergoing treatment for the past three weeks. 

Dua was the former Editor-in-Chief of The Tribune and served as media adviser to former Prime Ministers HD Deve Gowda and Atal Bihari Vajpayee. He also represented India as Ambassador to Denmark. He was conferred the Padma Bhushan in 2008 in recognition of his contributions to journalism.
