A key accused linked to the murder of prominent Patna businessman Gopal Khemka was shot dead in an encounter with the police on Tuesday morning. The incident took place in the Mal Salami area of Patna City when police teams attempted to arrest the suspect.
The accused, identified as Vikas alias Raja, had allegedly supplied weapons for Khemka’s murder and was also connected to shooter Umesh, who is suspected to have pulled the trigger. Police said Raja opened fire when a team reached the area to nab him, prompting retaliatory firing in which he was killed.
