Gujarat CM Shri Vijaybhai Rupani today inaugurated a mega mid-day meal kitchen facility set up by Reliance Foundation in Jamnagar under the state govt’s mid-day meals scheme which will be run by The Akshaya Patra Foundation. This new mega kitchen has the capacity to prepare 50,000 meals a day to deliver food to govt & govt-aided schools. Reliance Foundation has provided Rs 8.5 crore for construction of building & buying all utensils & vehicles for the food delivery. Above this, Reliance Foundation will provide additional Rs. 1 Crore for supporting schools in Jamnagar & Lalpur Taluka located near RIL refinery in line with its commitment to enhancing the quality of life of people from marginalised and vulnerable strata in our society.

On this occasion, Shri Parimal Nathwani, Director of Corporate Affairs at Reliance Industries Ltd, said, “It is an honour for all of us that Chief Minister of Gujarat Shri Vijaybhai Rupani came down to Jamnagar to inaugurate this new mega kitchen facility. We at Reliance are committed to enhance the quality of life of people from marginalised and vulnerable strata in our society. Children are the future of our nation and it is essential to provide them nutritional food for their holistic development.
