In the third phase of the Lok Sabha election on April 23, 116 seats spread across 13 states and two Union Territories, will go to the polls.

In this phase of elections, all the 26 Lok Sabha seats in Gujarat will go to the polls which have been a stronghold of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).  The saffron party has ruled the State since 1995 and won all the Lok Sabha seats in the 2014 polls.

All parliamentary constituencies in Gujarat, Kerala, Dadra and Nagar Haveli, Goa and Daman and Diu will vote in a single phase. According to the Election Commission of India, polling will mostly be held from 7 am to 6 pm. "There are around 4.47 crore voters in the state. Votes will be cast across 51,709 booths. Of these 4,47,464,179 voters, 2,32,56,688 are men and 2,14,88,437 women, 10 lakh people will vote first time as they are now 18 years old.  A total of 371 candidates are in the fray in all 26 Lok Sabha seats. BJP President Amit Shah will contest from Gandhinagar Lok Sabha seat.
