While the whole Gujarati Film production is on a hault during this current Covid19 virus pandemic, a Gujarati short film "WOO" got itself premiered on Disney+Hotstar.

Award Winning Filmmaker Tanmay Shah's Short Film "Woo" is now Streaming on Disney+Hot star. In 2016, the short film was broadcasted at NDTV prime and now in 2020  "woo"  had made it to the OTT platform Disney+HotStar. 

"Woo"  is a zero-budget film and is based on a  satire on the duality of the times we live in. It talks about the circumvention of the reality with the virtual world that we live in. It is a 6 minute purely original flute musical sound tracked film. The flute played and respective acting is done by a reat vagabond who was found playing flute outside Ahmedabad Polytechnic. Interesting part of this film is that, it has no dialogues at all. It can be understood from its gestures and music which gives complete direction to this short film.

Who is Tanmay Shah and why did he got Limca Award?

Tanmay Shah was born in Ahmedabad. He is a Director, Producer, Writer, Editor and a Cinematographer from Gujarat, India who is known for 52FilmsProject and his short documentary Pinch of Salt. He is the Founder and CEO of FridayFictionFilms. In 2016, Tanmay Shah was awarded Limca Book of Records for making 52 zero budget short films in 52 weeks. All the films were shot in Ahmedabad. He has given a TEDx talk at TEDxBITS Hyderabad about 52FilmsProject. In 2016, he made a 12-minute short documentary film, in Gujarati language, based on the lives of 30,000 salt pan workers of Kutch, Gujarat.  It had been screened at the International Film Festivals of Romania, Russia, USA, Canada, Germany, Spain, UK, and Serbia. It had won 12 Awards at various International Film Festivals.
