Indian Motion Picture Producers' Association (IMPPA) on Wednesday wrote to Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman urging her to abolish the 18% GST levied on the film industry. They wrote, "This is an industry where Government makes no investment...but takes away the lion's share in the income generated." IMPPA is asking for the abolishment as a one-time measure to revive the industry.
