The nationwide tally of confirmed COVID-19 cases has crossed 1.65-lakh mark to make India the world's ninth worst hit country by the deadly virus infection, while the death toll rose to 4,706 to surpass China's official count of 4,634 fatalities, according to data by Health Ministry's official website. As per data available on Health Ministry website on Friday morning, India reported a record 7,466 new cases in the last 24 hours along with 175 deaths. The total number of COVID-19 cases in the country now stand at 165799 with the fatality count mounting to 4,706.
