Central and state governments collected Rs.1.31 trillion in Goods and Services Tax (GST) revenue in November, surpassing October collections, buoyed by festive and pent-up demand. This is the second-highest collection since the rollout of the indirect tax system in 2017. November GST mop-up is 25% higher than the GST revenue collected in the same month last year and 27% higher than the receipt in the same month in FY20, said an official statement.
