Ministry of External Affairs today said the Lotus symbol on new passports is part of the enhanced security feature to identify fake passports and other national symbols will also be used on rotation. On Wednesday, Opposition members in Lok Sabha raised the issue of Lotus symbol on passports. Congress MP MK Raghavan demanded the withdrawal of such passports alleging "saffronisation".
