Maharashtra inched towards the grim milestone of 60,000 cases on Friday with the State reporting 2,598 new Covid-19 cases to take the cumulative tally to 59,546.  A total 698 patients were discharged to take the total number of discharged till date to 18,616.  85 new deaths were reported today, taking the total number of fatalities to 1,982.  Mumbai's case tally has now crossed the 35,000 mark to reach 35,485 cases, while it's death toll has risen to 1135. 38 of the new deaths reported today were from Mumbai city, while 10 from Pune district, nine from Satara and seven from Solapur among other parts of the state.
