Violent protests erupted outside the United States Consulate in Karachi on Sunday after the death of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei in US–Israeli strikes. Demonstrators attacked security barricades with sticks and stones, forcing authorities to deploy tear gas and impose road closures to prevent the mob from breaching the compound.
