The Members of Parliament on Thursday unanimously decided to not avail any subsidy at the Parliament canteen. The parliamentarians reportedly decided not to avail the subsidy after Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla mooted a suggestion in this regard. As per reports, the move could save up to Rs.17 crore annually once the practice to provide subsidised food stops.
