A college student from Dharamtul in Assam’s Morigaon district, who was arrested by Mumbai ATS for writing to the BCCI and threatening to attack Indian cricketers, has been remanded to custody of Mumbai police till Aug 26.

Based on a complaint received from the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), a team from the Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) from Maharashtra arrested one, identified as Brajamohan Das, from Morigaon district in Assam on August 20.

Since threat mails are considered very sensitive in nature, A case has been registered under Sections 506 (II) and 509 of Indian Penal Code (IPC) along with Section 7 of Criminal Law Amendment Act 1932.
