National Commission for Women (NCW) has taken suo motu cognizance of a viral stand-up comedy show video from Gurugram, Haryana, where alleged remarks glorifying sexual coercion and non-consensual behaviour were made and reportedly applauded. The Commission has directed the Haryana DGP to take immediate action and submit an Action Taken Report.
Comedian Pranit More and participant Himanshu Jangra have been summoned for a hearing on June 22, 2026. NCW has also sought FIR registration under Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and Action Taken Report within seven days.
