The Indian stock market benchmark indices Sensex and Nifty 50 gained 4% on Wednesday, April 8, after the US and Iran agreed to a two-week ceasefire deal, leading to a rally in global markets.
Sensex soared 2,985 points or 4% to its day's high of 77,601.46, while broader Nifty 50 rallied 890 points or 3.8% to its intra-day high of 24,014.
