The Lok Sabha Elections 2019 to choose the 17th Lok Sabha is being conducted across India in seven phases. Nearly 59.64% voters have casts their votes in the fourth phase of elections. Polling began in the morning at 7 am in 51 parliamentary constituencies across 7 states of India.

The poll percentage in Bihar was 52.86%, 17.07% in Jammu and Kashmir, 63.69% in Jharkhand, 62.96% in Madhya Pradesh,59.93% in Rajasthan, 53.20% in Uttar Pradesh, and 74.06% in West Bengal.

Voting was held in 14 seats in Uttar Pradesh, 12 in Rajasthan, seven seats each in West Bengal and Madhya Pradesh, five in Bihar and four in Jharkhand. In Jammu and Kashmir, polling is taking place in Ladakh constituency, Pulwama and Shopian districts of Anantnag sea.

Violence has been reported from West Bengal and Jammu and Kashmir as 51 constituencies across seven states vote today in the fifth phase. Arjun Singh, BJP candidate in Bengal's Barrackpore, alleged that he was attacked by Trinamool Congress workers this morning. In another incident in Bongaon Lok Sabha seat, one Trinamool Congress and one cop was injured in the incident.

In Jammu and Kashmir's Shopian, two polling booths in Shopian were set on fire this morning. A grenade attack was reported in Pulwama where 40 CRPF men were killed in February. Petrol bomb thrown at a polling station in south Kashmir's Shopian, no loss of life or injuries reported. An EVM was broken in Booth Number 131 in Bihar's Chappra constituency. Police has arrested the miscreant, identified as Ranjit Paswan. Chapra area belongs to Saran Lok Sabha seat where Rajiv Pratap Rudy (Bharatiya Janata Party), Chandrika Roy (Rashtriya Janata Dal), Shyoji Ram (Bahujan Samaj Party) are in the electoral fray.

EC has removed the presiding officer of Booth Number 110 of Nashkarpur village under Talpur anchal of Tarakeshwar. This was done after a Trinamool local leader Maharaja Nag accompanied a voter up to the EVM and pressed the button instead of the voter. The incident happened in Arambagh Lok Sabha seat.

Counting of votes for all 543 parliamentary constituencies across the country will be held on May 23, and the result will be declared the same day.
