Prime Minister Narendra Modi today replied to the motion of thanks on president's speech in Lok Sabha. He is presently addressing the Lower House and laying out government's roadmap for the next five. Addressing the House, the prime minister slammed Indira Gandhi government and said that Emergency crushed India's soul.

India shouldn't lose an opportunity to move ahead, says Modi

"After many decades, the country has given a strong mandate, a government was voted back into power. To fulfill the dream of a strong, prosperous, inclusive nation, India should not lose the opportunity to move ahead," said Narendra Modi. "The 2019 Lok Sabha elections show that more than themselves, the people of India are thinking about the good of the nation. This spirit is wonderful."

He also welcomed newly-elected Speaker Om Birla in Lok Sabha.

Modi speaks on being re-elected

On BJP winning the Lok Sabha election, Narendra Modi said, "I don't think about elections in terms of who won and who lost. For me, what is satisfying is the opportunity to serve 130 crore Indians and do work that has made a positive difference in the lives of our citizen."

Opposition not connected with roots, says Modi

Taking a dig at the Opposition, Narendra Modi said, "You have gone so up in the air that you can't see the ground, you've lost your roots. I give me satisfaction to see you rise so much. We will keep wishing you 'aur unche, aur unche, aur unche (higher, higher, higher)'."

Congress Vajpayee, Narsimha Rao, or even Manmohan Singh: PM

Continuing his attack on the Congress, Narendra Modi said, "Did those in power from 2004 to 2014 ever talk in appreciation of Atal Bihari Vajpayee? Did they ever speak about the good work of Narasimha Rao Ji? In this Lok Sabha debate, they did not even speak of Manmohan Singh."

Modi slams Congress on the 44th anniversary of Emergency

On the 44th anniversary of Emergency, Narendra Modi said, "A few people were constantly asking during the debate, 'Who did it? Who did it? I want to ask them, today is 25th June. Who imposed the Emergency? Who trampled over the spirit of the Constitution, gagged the media and bullied the judiciary? We can't forget those dark days."

Modi mocks Congress MP for asking why Sonia, Rahul were not jailed in 2G scam

On Congress leader Adhir Ranjan's jibe over charges against Sonia and Rahul Gandhi in 2G scam, Narendra Modi said, "We're being criticised because we didn't put some people in jail. This is not Emergency that the government will put people in jail; it's a democracy, the law will deal with it."

Don't link triple talaq Bill with religion, says Modi

 

On the triple talaq Bill, Narendra Modi said, "Congress missed opportunities with uniform civil code and Shah Bano case. Now again there is an opportunity, and we have brought a bill for women's empowerment. Please do not link it to religion."

Wining People's Trust Is very Important
