The central government on Wednesday referred to Pakistan as a “safe haven" for terrorists and said that the strikes under Operation Sindoor were carried out to dismantle terror infrastructure across the border. Addressing a press conference in New Delhi, Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri said the government had the intel that more terror attacks like Pahalgam were planned in India.

He said that the probe into the Pahalgam terror attack has revealed links of Pakistan to the attack. “Pahalgam attack was a dastardly attack in which civilians were killed. The Pahalgam attack was done to disturb the peace prevailing in Kashmir. The attack on Pahalgam was extremely brutal… After the attack, the family members were also advised to go and convey this message. Tourists/people visiting Kashmir have not succumbed to this fear that terrorists created," he said.

The press conference is being jointly addressed by Colonel Sofiya Qureshi, Wing Commander Vyomika Singh and Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri.
