The Congress will organise a day-long 'Satyagraha' on Sunday in solidarity with Rahul Gandhi in front of Gandhi statues at all states and district headquarters to protest against his disqualification from the Lok Sabha. The satyagraha will begin at 10 am and end at 5 pm.

The protest comes in the backdrop of Rahul Gandhi being disqualified as a Lok Sabha MP following his conviction in a 2019 defamation case. He has been sentenced to two-year jail for "why all thieves have Modi surname" remark made by him while addressing a rally at Kolar in Karnataka ahead of the 2019 Lok Sabha elections.

Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge and party general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra will stage the satyagraha at Raj Ghat in the national capital. Congress's General Secretary KC Venugopal on Saturday said party's workers will do the Sankalp Satyagraha in all state headquarters and at Gandhi statues.
