The internal turmoil within the Trinamool Congress (TMC) intensified on Saturday after Baidyanath Ghosh Dastidar, son of rebel party MP Kakoli Ghosh Dastidar, served a legal notice on former West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee and several senior TMC leaders, denying allegations that he had sought a party ticket to contest from the Barasat Assembly constituency.
According to the legal notice, Baidyanath Ghosh Dastidar has demanded a public clarification and unconditional apology within 15 days, arguing that allegations linking him to electoral ambitions in Barasat are "false and defamatory."
