The World Health Organisation (WHO) on Sunday noted another record increase in global coronavirus cases with 2,30,370 in 24 hours. It may be noted that the biggest jump was seen in US, Brazil, India and South Africa. The previous record 24-hour surge in cases was witnessed on July 10 with over 2.28 lakh cases. The global death rate, however, remains steady at 5,000 per day. The total number of coronavirus cases registered across the globe have now passed 13 million and nearly 5.7 lakh deaths. India, currently placed third in terms of Covid-19 cases, has nearly 8.5 lakh coronavirus cases and over 22,000 deaths.
