Russia has submitted its response to India’s tender for acquiring five more squadrons of S-400 Triumf long-range air defence systems for the Indian Air Force. “The defence ministry has received the response and it is under process,” a defence source said. The project is estimated to cost over Rs 50,000 crore.
India has already received four of the five S-400 squadrons ordered under the original 2018 agreement with Russia, with the fifth and final squadron expected to be delivered by Nov this year. Russia shipped the fourth batch of S-400 systems in May this year.
