Seven persons died of asphyxiation inside a septic tank at a hotel in Fartikui village of Dabhoi taluka in Vadodara on Friday midnight. Uncertainty loomed large over their kin as most of the deceased were sole breadwinners for their families.

The incident took place at Hotel Darshan on Dabhoi-Vadodara state highway between 12 midnight and 12.30 am. One of the workers had entered the tank for cleaning it but fell unconscious. T he remaining workers went inside one after the other to save the others, but all of them ended up suffocating to death.
