After Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman announced lowering of corporate tax rate to 22% for firms that do not avail any exemptions, PM Narendra Modi called the move "historic". "It will give a great stimulus to Make in India, attract private investment from across the globe, improve competitiveness of our private sector and create more jobs," PM Modi tweeted.
