ConTech brand Zee5’s chief executive officer Tarun Katial has stepped down from the position. Katial’s expertise played a key role in building the digital platform. He joined Zee5 as the CEO in November 2016. Before that he was part of the leadership at Anil Ambani's broadcast business under Reliance Broadcast Network Limited.

In line with Zee5’s recently announced strategic restructuring, Amit Goenka as the president - digital businesses and platforms will continue to lead the team, along with other digital platforms.

“We wish to confirm that Tarun Katial has tendered his resignation, as CEO, Zee5 India. Under his able leadership, in a very short span of time, Zee5 has emerged as India’s largest ConTech brand, delivering seamless, superlative content across different consumer touch-points, backed with cutting edge technology. His rich experience and expertise have been invaluable in building a robust digital platform. We wish Tarun the best in all his future endeavours,” a company spokesperson said.

Katial’s immediate plans are not known, but he could be planning to launch something of his own in pursuit of achieving some higher goals, think industry sources.
