In a circular sent to higher education regulators, the Union Ministry of Human Resource Development (HRD) has said that teachers, researchers and non-teaching staff should be permitted to work from home till July 31. This period will be counted as on duty for staff, said the circular. Online and distance education "shall continue to be permitted and encouraged", it added.
