Residents in Ariadaha allegedly hurled eggs at a vehicle linked to senior Trinamool Congress MLA Madan Mitra's vehicle on Saturday night, the latest in a string of protest actions that have increasingly targeted TMC leaders from the party’s top rung to local grassroots representatives since the Assembly election defeat.
The latest incident comes just days after senior TMC MP and the party's national general secretary Abhishek Banerjee faced protests during a visit to Sonarpur in South 24 Parganas.
