The Vande Bharat Express broke down in the early hours of Saturday, after semi high-speed train was flagged off by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The train came to a stop near Tundla, about 200 km from its destination Delhi.

The exact reason for the glitch that led to the power failure in some of the coaches is yet to be ascertained. However, a railways spokesperson said that this appears to be a disruption because of some possible cattle run over.
