US President Donald Trump announced that the United States had successfully carried out an extensive military strike against Venezuela, resulting in the capture of its President Nicolas Maduro and his wife.
According to a post on Trump’s social media account, the operation was carried out in collaboration with US law enforcement agencies, and both Maduro and his wife have been flown out of the country. The airstrike, which began around 2 am local time, saw multiple explosions reported across the capital, Caracas, and in surrounding states.
