Amit Shah on Tuesday lashed out at Mamata Banerjee after his roadshow in Kolkata was blemished by incidents of violence.

Clashes broke out during roadshow of BJP President Amit Shah in Kolkata, West Bengal. The incident happened after sticks were hurled at Amit Shah’s cavalcade while it was passing through Kolkata University. The police later resorted to lathi-charge to control the violence.

The student body of Trinamool Congress was staging a protest against the rally at College Street in Kolkata. The scuffle broke out after the TMC supporters allegedly pelted stones at the rally, following which BJP supporters attacked them.

Another round of scuffle also broke out between two groups near Vidyasagar College. Three bikes were allegedly set on fire by BJP supporters. The police have resorted to lathi charge in the area.

Reacting to the incident, Shah blamed TMC for the clashes.

"TMC goons attacked our roadshow and clashed with our party workers. I could not even finish my rally. I believe the people of Bengal will give a fitting reply to this hooliganism,"
