The West Bengal government has allowed the sale of green crackers in the state. However, the state government has also fixed a time slot for the bursting of crackers on the day of Diwali, which is set at 8 pm to 10 pm. On the occasion of Chhath puja, green crackers can be used for celebrating the festival from 6 am till 8 am. For the festivities surrounding Christmas and New Year celebrations, the timing has been fixed from 11:55 pm to 12:30 am.
