The BJP will form its first-ever government in West Bengal, scripting history in a state that had long remained an impenetrable fortress of the Trinamool. The BJP won 206 of the state's 294 seats, while the Trinamool received 81 seats. Bengal has been freed from fear and will now progress, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said in an evening speech.
