The World Health Organization (WHO) has declared the ongoing Ebola outbreak in Congo and Uganda a public health emergency of international concern after hundreds of suspected cases and dozens of deaths were reported across the region.
WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus announced the emergency declaration on Sunday following growing concerns over the spread of the rare Bundibugyo strain of the Ebola virus.
